KUALA LUMPUR: Primeworks Bhd Studio. (PWS) has issued an apology to former national sprinter, Watson Nyambek, following a controversial statement made by one of the presenters of Sukan Tak Sentral, on Saturday.
PWS Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Izham Omar said the company has reminded their staff to be more aware and sensitive in the programmes aired on the channels.
“We will review all methods and operation work to avoid this from happening again,” he said in a statement today.
Izham adds that Watson is greatly admired and respected, as well as his father and his family members.
“Watson is a legendary sprinter and has made the country proud. We humbly apologise for our mistake and will ensure something like this will never happen again in the future,” he said.
Watson, who previously held the national 100m sprint record, said he was furious and offended by the presenter’s antics when pronouncing his father’s name.
